Who this is for

Classifications, not legal verdicts

OFFICIAL_RULE identifies a sourced restriction. ALLOWED_WITH_LIMITS means the named source expressly sets limits; it is not a universal permission. AGENCY_SPECIFIC_NOT_STATUTORY means the checklist is not established here as a state requirement. SOURCE_REVIEW_REQUIRED identifies a gap or a case the reviewed source does not settle.

Worked example

Illustrative scenario

A request for transaction history in Queensland receives the Queensland-source restriction, not an Australia-wide ILLEGAL badge. A jurisdiction without a reviewed document-specific rule receives an explicit source-review limitation.

State limits stay within their jurisdiction

Queensland's reviewed guidance limits requested documents to two in each of identity, ability to pay and suitability; two is a maximum, not a required count. Its prescribed application process took effect on 1 May 2025. Victoria's prescribed-form changes from 31 March 2026 limit identity and financial evidence and exclude bank transaction details. South Australia's reviewed guidance also limits each requested document category; this resource does not assert a mandatory-form rule where the source wording is inconsistent.

National privacy coverage has limits

OAIC's tenancy guidance applies to agents covered by the Australian Privacy Principles, not automatically every landlord or agent. Ask why information is necessary, who receives it, how it is protected and how to access or correct it. The checker does not certify a form or advise you to withhold information needed for your individual application.

Before sending documents

The tool requests a category, never an uploaded document, account number or transaction history. Read the current official source for the selected jurisdiction, confirm the agency's process and use a secure channel. A document-preparation score is a separate task from checking request limits.

Frequently asked questions

Does the result decide my application or legal position?

No. It reports scoped arithmetic or source guidance. Your agreement, the recipient's assessment and applicable exceptions remain separate.

Are my entered figures sent with analytics?

The calculation runs in your browser. If you allow analytics, pseudonymous usage events contain the tool, market and an ephemeral attempt ID, not your amounts, documents or individual result.
