Terms of Service

These Terms apply to your use of RentFiles and any purchase of a RentFiles digital product.

1. Who we are

RentFiles is operated by GAZEL CHARLES, entrepreneur individuel (SIRET 884 213 489 00013), based in France, trading as RentFiles (“RentFiles”, “we”, “us”, “our”).

2. What RentFiles does

RentFiles helps renters create a structured rental application PDF using information they provide.

RentFiles is not:

  • a real estate agency;
  • a landlord or property manager;
  • a law firm;
  • a government service;
  • a credit reporting agency;
  • a guarantee of rental approval.

We do not submit your application to landlords or agencies unless a specific feature clearly says so. We do not guarantee that a landlord, agent, property manager, or housing provider will accept your rental application.

3. Who can use RentFiles

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your location, to purchase or use RentFiles.

You must provide accurate information and only upload or enter information that you have the right to use.

4. Your rental application information

You are responsible for checking that the information you enter is accurate before generating or sharing your PDF.

RentFiles does not independently verify your identity, income, employment, references, documents, or rental history unless a feature clearly states otherwise.

You must not use RentFiles to create false, misleading, fraudulent, discriminatory, unlawful, or harmful content.

5. Digital product and delivery

RentFiles sells instantly delivered digital content.

After successful payment, you receive access to a generated rental application PDF and related download/access tools, depending on the pack you purchase.

Delivery usually starts immediately after payment confirmation. If access fails due to a technical issue, contact us at support@rentfiles.uk.

6. Pricing and payment

Prices are shown before checkout. The final price, currency, and any applicable taxes or charges are shown before payment.

Payments are processed by Stripe or another listed payment provider. RentFiles does not store full card details.

7. Instant access and cancellation rights

Because RentFiles provides digital content that may be generated and delivered immediately after payment, cancellation rights may be affected once digital delivery begins.

For UK customers, if you agree to immediate access to the digital content and acknowledge that your cancellation rights may be affected once delivery starts, you may lose the standard 14-day cancellation right after the digital content is delivered.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be excluded under applicable consumer law.

8. Refunds

Refunds are handled under our Refund Policy.

We generally do not refund successfully delivered digital PDFs simply because you changed your mind after delivery, unless required by applicable law.

We will review refund requests where:

  • the paid PDF was not delivered;
  • the PDF was technically faulty and we cannot fix it;
  • you were charged twice for the same purchase;
  • the wrong amount was charged;
  • applicable consumer law requires a refund or remedy.

9. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • attempt to bypass payment;
  • access another user’s file or token;
  • overload or scrape the service;
  • reverse engineer protected systems;
  • upload malicious files;
  • use RentFiles for fraud;
  • misrepresent RentFiles as an official or agency-approved service.

10. Your content

You keep ownership of the information you enter.

You give RentFiles permission to process your information only as needed to provide the service, generate the PDF, process payment, provide support, prevent abuse, comply with law, and improve service reliability.

11. Intellectual property

RentFiles owns the RentFiles brand, site design, software, templates, layout, and generated document structure, except for your personal information and content.

You may use the generated PDF for your personal rental application purposes.

You may not resell, clone, copy, or commercially exploit RentFiles templates or software.

12. Service availability

We aim to keep RentFiles available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

We may suspend access if needed for maintenance, security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, or technical reasons.

13. Disclaimers

RentFiles is provided as a digital document generation tool.

We do not guarantee:

  • rental approval;
  • agency acceptance;
  • landlord response;
  • legal compliance of your rental application in every location;
  • correctness of information you provide;
  • successful delivery to third parties outside RentFiles.

14. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RentFiles is not liable for indirect loss, lost opportunity, lost rental application outcome, landlord/agency decisions, or losses caused by inaccurate information provided by you.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including applicable consumer guarantees, statutory rights, or liability for fraud.

15. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version shown on this page applies when you use or purchase through RentFiles.

17. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of France. This does not limit mandatory consumer rights you may have under the law of the country where you live.
