What needs doing before you move?
Add your move-in date. A week-by-week checklist follows.
How this is calculated
A moving timeline counts back from your move-in date: documents and quotes four weeks before, bookings and connections two weeks before, packing in move week and the condition check on move day.
Formula
- 4 weeks before = move-in date minus 28 days
- 2 weeks before = move-in date minus 14 days
- Move week = move-in date minus 7 days
- Move day = the date you enter
What it uses
- The move-in date you enter
- Whether you are also leaving a rental
What it does not tell you
- Notice periods, lease end dates or legal deadlines
- Costs, providers or availability where you live
- Tasks specific to your lease or building
Sources
No external statistics, market data or thresholds are used. Every figure comes from what you enter.

Common questions
When should I start preparing to move?
About four weeks before is a practical point to gather application documents and compare removalist quotes. The planner then groups tasks two weeks before, in move week and on move day.
Does the checklist include notice periods?
No. If you are leaving a rental, it reminds you to check your lease for the notice you need to give. The period depends on your lease and the rules where the property is.
Is my plan saved?
No. The plan is built in your browser and disappears when you leave the page. If you allow analytics, we record pseudonymous usage events without your date or your answers.
